Data Integrity Check in Sage Accpac ERP

    Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

The data integrity check tool in Sage Accpac ERP is a very important tool to ensure the health of your accounting data.  It scans your accounting database to locate possible errors and inconsistencies.

To use the tool, you have to login in to Sage Accpac using the administrator account or a account with appropriate permissions. Once you are logged in you should go to the administrative services module. Here you will find the icons for administrative tasks which include data management tools and security related tools. Choose the icon labeled data integrity. Make sure before running this check that no one is logged into Sage Accpac as this check will need access to all records in the database.  Choose the modules you would like to check and hit the button labeled “Check”. The option to check certain modules is very useful if you know you have an error in a certain module and don’t want to scan the entire accounting databse for errors as it takes many hours. The scan time varies depending how large your database is, how many transactions and records you have and how many modules you included in the scan.

Once the data integrity check completes, depending on your print settings, it generate a report and prompts you to print it. As any report in Sage Accpac you chose to preview it, print it or choose from many other options. Once your report printed you’ll have determine what errors are important, I will write about this later.
